I've been a believer of Multiple Intelligence Theory ever since I first learned about the concept. It makes so much sense to teach kids that there are MANY ways people are smart, and my students enjoyed learning about their own strengths. However, some educators are now saying that Carol Dweck's research on growth mindset means that MI Theory is out. I disagree, and I explained why on the Multiple Intelligences page on my site.
