Team Project Evaluation Form

How to Grade Team Projects - Tips
and a Freebie

Team projects are fun and can be very effective as collaborative learning activities. But how do you grade them fairly? I created this Team Project Evaluation form a few years ago as a way to hold individual students accountable for their contributions to a team project. I recently shared some tips for using it in an article on my Corkboard Connections blog, and I also explained where you can download it to use with your students.

Seasonal activities are not just for little ones. Sometimes upper elementary students need a break from the day-to-day routines, too. The activities in the November Mini Pack are perfect for keeping kids engaged and learning during the month of November. Power Reading Workshop
Power Reading Workshop for the Common Core

Your Help Needed!

Have you implemented Power Reading Workshop in your classroom? If so, I need your help! I spoke with my publisher earlier this week, and it looks like we are going to create a CCSS-aligned version of this book. I'm looking for a few teachers who have been using the program to serve as a part of a "focus group" to provide feedback as I work on this project. If you are interested, please read my recent post on Corkboard Connections and sign up using the Google Doc form in the post. Thanks!
File Cabinet
Free Printables in the Virtual File Cabinet

Have you checked out my virtual File Cabinet on Teaching Resources? I created it to share activities that worked well for me, and I have added dozens of free printables to it over the last 12 years. You'll find free printables in almost every subject area including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Spend some time poking around to see what you can find!

Common Core Aligned
Common Core Aligned Teaching Resources

Do you recognize this symbol? I've been adding it to resources I create that are aligned with Common Core State Standards. You'll find all of my Common Core aligned resources in two pages on my website: CCSS Math Resources and CCSS ELA Resources. When you see these images on Pinterest or my site, just click one of them to find the page you need!

Free Webinar and Loads of

Resources to Get You Started!

If you are a public school teacher in the US, it's worth your time to learn about DonorsChoose.org. It's an organization that helps teachers obtain funding for their classroom projects. Millions of dollars have been donated through this organization ... why shouldn't you receive some of that money? :-) Teachers submit project requests that are reviewed and posted on the website. Donors who visit the site choose which classroom projects they want to help fund. All donations are tax-deductible.

Donors Choose Webinar DonorsChoose is a little tricky to use, so if you want to maximize the chance that your project will get selected for funding, I recommend watching my webinar.  I hosted the webinar with Francie Kugelman who has now had over 100 projects funded through DC. She definitely knows the tricks of the trade! Visit the DonorsChoose page on Teaching Resources to find the webinar. Be sure to read about Fund-day Sunday, too. This is a special event that takes place every Sunday on Facebook and is one more way that you might be able to get help with your project.
