February 2013 Library Card Partnership with Local Businesses
The Robbins Library is seeking partnerships with local businesses during the month of February. This partnership is a great opportunity for your business to market your goods and services to both local library cardholders and library cardholders in surrounding communities. Your business would also be helping both the Robbins Library and Fox Branch Library encourage library card registration. During the month of February, when library patrons visit a partner business, they will present their library card or keytag when they make a purchase. At that time, they will receive something from the business. This "free something" is whatever you decide to give away, either dollars (or a percentage) off of a purchase or a specific item. The library will do all of the advertising for partnering businesses, and we will give out bookmarks listing participating businesses to everyone that checks out materials at the library, in addition to including participating businesses on the library's website or Facebook page. It costs nothing to partner with the library on this promotion, except what you give away or discount to library cardholders. This is great publicity for your business and a great community partnership. To get involved or for more details, contact Ryan Livergood, Director of Libraries, at 781-316-3201 or via e-mail at rlivergood@minlib.net.
Visiting Nurse and Community Health's "Pot of Gold" Draws Hundreds
Harry Allen of Arlmont Fuel (pictured left) was the MC for Visiting Nurse and Community Health's (VNCH) 7th annual "Pot of Gold" event at the Sons of Italy Hall in Arlington. Pot of Gold attendees enjoyed a tasty buffet dinner from Blue Ribbon BBQ, and the top silent auction bidders walked away with great items. As the night progressed and numbers were eliminated, hope was kept alive as fantastic "loser prizes" were periodically distributed. The final and "Luckiest Loser" of the night received a Night stay at the Westin Hotel! This year, the top 10 finalists unanimously decided to split the "Pot of Gold", which made for 10 very excited $1,000 winners! Pot of Gold Committee members were, Harry Allen, Bob Bowes, Bowes Real Estate; Harry Allen; Kathleen Darcy, Cambridge Savings Bank; Tim Haley, Prakash Ellenhorn, LLC; Meredith Lambroff of VNCH; (pictured above at right); Lisa Lorgeree, Brookline Bank and Starry Poe, Brookline Bank.
