 SJF Invests in Versify
SJF has invested in Versify Solutions, a Glen Mills, PA-based SaaS provider of utility and power generation optimization solutions. SJF Ventures led the company's Series C growth capital financing and SJF Managing Director Cody Nystrom will join the board. Versify has developed partnerships with some of the largest utilities and independent power producers in the country including Constellation Energy, Duke, Iberdrola, LS Power, Xcel, Acciona, and Edison Mission among many others. Versify's software products empower customers with robust real-time and predictive applications enabling energy asset owners and operators to make collective, informed decisions that maximize profits. Revolution Growth Invests in Optoro
Optoro announced a Series B investment led by Revolution Growth, a DC-based investment firm founded and managed by Steve Case, Ted Leonsis, and Donn Davis. The investment will enable Optoro to significantly scale its software as a service (SaaS) business and its OptiTurn marketing platform, which uses proprietary pricing algorithms and predictive analytics to drive the highest financial recovery possible for returned and excess inventory. NC Governor Announces Aseptia Expansion Plans
North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker joined the Aseptia management team on July 15 to announce the company's plans to create 500 new jobs and invest $53 million over the next five years in Troy, NC. Since opening its North Carolina manufacturing facility in August 2012, Aseptia has created over 80 jobs in the state. Read more.

eRecyclingCorps Surpasses One Million Wireless Device Trade-ins in One Month
eRecyclingCorps (eRC) completed over 1.1 million secure wireless device trade-ins in May, setting an industry record for collections in a single month and achieving a 270% year-over-year increase from May 2012. This performance equates to more than 37,000 devices collected each day and 450,000 pounds of e-waste diverted from landfills.
eRC is helping its wireless operator partners to profitably manage e-waste. In 2009, Sprint overhauled its device recycling program, implemented eRC's system, and is now saving over $1 billion a year. Sprint collected more than four devices for every ten it sold in 2012 and aims to collect nine for every ten sold by 2017. Read more.

MediaMath Expands In Asia
MediaMath and Cheil Worldwide have partnered to expand the Korean-based agency's digital advertising initiatives in Korea, China and Southeast Asia. MediaMath also plans to open an office in Singapore in November. Read the press release here.

SJF Welcomes Stephanie Nieman
SJF is pleased to announce Stephanie Nieman has joined our Durham, NC office as a new Associate. Stephanie is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the investment process, supporting SJF's fund administration, and overseeing impact acceleration and measurement. She was most recently at B Lab, the PA-based nonprofit behind B Corps and GIIRS, where she served as Director of Developed Market Standards.
