Congratulations to the Varsity Girls' Volleyball Team for advancing to the State Championship as the #10 seed! In honor of this tremendous accomplishment the school is planning the following celebrations and events.


Thursday, November 12, 2015 - Pep Rally
11:00 a.m. - 11:35 a.m.

All -School; parents and fans welcome!

On Thursday, an all-school pep rally will take place in the gym. In addition, to wishing the Volleyball team well, Athletic Director, Rick Risk will applaud the state-qualifying Cross Country runners, and other notables fall sports honors. The Model United Nations team and the Matchwits team will be honored for their recent successes.

A limited number of Catch State Spirit t-shirts organized by the sophomore class will be available for $15 (cash only please) at the pep rally and in front of the Field House prior to loading the vans/bus on Friday. 
 

Friday, November 13, 2015 - Volleyball State Championship
Denver Coliseum  

NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2015
FOR MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL
 
Middle School and Upper School students will not have school on Friday. This means CSS WILL NOT be holding classes for Middle and Upper School on Friday. We encourage all Middle and Upper School students to attend the State Championship for Volleyball. The school will provide transportation and tickets to the game for those students wishing to attend. The Pep Band will also be going to support the fan and athlete experience. We feel this is a wonderful opportunity for community-building and celebration!  
  • Students will need to return the following permission slip by 8:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2015 as to whether your student will or will not attend Friday. PLEASE RETURN YOUR FORM TO MS. RUNTE (Middle School) or DR. LONGO (Upper School).
  • Middle and Upper School students traveling from CSS on CSS transportation will be provided tickets to the event, compliments of CSS. 
  • Students attending must report to their respective divisional buildings by 8:00 a.m. as usual on Friday to take attendance and load buses for departure from campus at 8:15 a.m.  
  • Students should bring spending money for meals/snacks of at least $10. No outside food is permitted inside the Denver Coliseum.
  • Based on our #10 seed in the bracket, it is difficult to estimate game times. At the earliest we estimate the Girls' will play at 11:00 a.m. However this is subject to the pace of play with the previous games. Similarly, it is difficult to estimate our return to campus that evening but we gather it will be between 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A ParentAlert message will be sent when the fan van/buses depart Denver. Parents will then need to pick up students on campus that evening from the Field House.
  • Parents may sign out their student from the Denver Coliseum to ride home with their own family. All other students must return to campus on CSS provided transportation.
Children's School will operate a normal class schedule on Friday. All buses will run normally Friday morning for Children's School, Middle School and Upper School (MS and US students coming on AM bus transportation are assumed to be attending the Championship games). Afternoon bus routes for Children's School will run normally, but there will not be any 5:50 p.m. Activity Bus or bus transportation for MS or US students if the buses return to CSS after 3:20 p.m.

We will be supportive of parent and family decisions to take an excused absence on this day to attend the game as a family or attend to other obligations. However, we ask that no student's be permitted to drive themselves or other students to and from the game on Friday.

Depending on how the team progresses through the bracket on Friday determines game times for Saturday. Please stay tuned to the school's Facebook page for details. All fans and families are encouraged to attend the games in Denver!
