Training: Thursday, September 17, 9:00 a.m.,
(Please note the time change to 9:00 a.m.)
Trianon Versailles Room

Childrens' and Middle School Parent Tour Guides (VIPs - Visitor Information Program) needed.

Our parents and students are our best "recruiters" for CSS, and we hope those interested can join in the tour guide program this year.  Tours for Children's School prospects are held Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and for Middle School prospects on Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. (Upper School students assist the Admission Office staff with Upper School tours).

We'd love to have you join the cadre of guides and help prospective families tour the campus and learn about CSS from a CSS parent perspective! Training for parent tour guides is scheduled for Thursday, September 17 at 9:00 a.m. in the Versailles Room of Trianon.

Please join us!  If you can't make the training, or need further information, please contact Lorie Malone, VIP Tour Program Coordinator at loriemalone@gmail.com or Lisa KK, Director of Admission and Marketing at lisakk@css.org
RenWeb as a Student and Parent Resource
RenWeb is a fantastic tool for students and parents! Some of our students and parents favorite features include:

Family Directory: Looking for a student or parent? Filter by name or grade level for quick access to names, phone numbers and email addresses. Download the RenWeb app for iphones or androids to access this tool on the go!

Homework and Grades: Monitor homework assignments and grades for 5th - 12th grade students.

Lunch Menus: View the lunch menu and pay your student's lunch account through RenWeb.

ParentAlert System:
During inclement-weather or Emergency situations the school uses cell phones stored in RenWeb to send ParentAlerts. Please be sure your cell phone is enabled to receive these text messages. Students may also receive ParentAlerts.

Update Student Information:
Dynamically update family demographic information, medical records, permissions, and emergency contacts for your family through RenWeb.

Click here for a short video on updating your Family Demographic webform and to enable your ParentAlert settings.

Click here for a quick "how to" manual for logging into RenWeb.

Traffic Control Safety Engineers Wanted

We are looking for traffic control "safety engineers" to help assist before and after school with car line in the Children's School. The safety of our children is a huge responsibility, and we would love to show you how to assist us. The morning shift is 7:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and the afternoon shift is 3:10 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.

We would love for you to sign up for at least one weekly shift for at least one month and up to the entire school year. We still need any afternoon except during the month of October AND Tuesday and Friday mornings throughout the year.

It is an amazing opportunity to meet some of our CSS families while keeping our car line moving quickly and efficiently! Please email me at loriemalone@gmail.com if you are interested.

Don't Miss Carnival! It's A Roarin' Good Time
Friday, September 25, 2015 noon - 3:00 p.m.,
On the Quad

Mark your calendars for this year's Carnival and get ready for a fun-filled afternoon for the entire CSS community. Kick off the fun by running in the Fun Run at 12:10 p.m. Next head on over to the quad to play games, win prizes, sing a little karaoke, feast on delicious food, purchase homemade baked goods and so much more! All funds raised go directly to CSS classrooms, grade-level activities, clubs, and organizations.

Each year, Carnival is produced entirely by the Parents Association. If you're a parent, that's you! Come help transform the quad into a carnival midway and meet new friends. Volunteer opportunities include working at a grade-level or club booth, providing home baked goods for the Bake Sale, helping with set up and tear down, and counting and selling game tokens.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Logistics Chair, Melissa Hoefler at (719)271-5160 (melishoefler@hotmail.com) or Booth Committee Chair, Ilise Garvin at (805)448-9172 (iliseric@gmail.com).
Calling All Bakers for Carnival

Carnival Bake Sale
The CSS Carnival needs baked goods for the annual Bake Sale on Friday, September 25.

Please send in any homemade goodies... cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, breads, treats and more. Variety is wonderful!

Both individual portions (example: baggies of several cookies) & whole items (cakes, pies, loaves of bread, etc.) are appreciated.

Drop off items at the Trianon on the morning of Carnival (starting at 7:30 a.m.). We will price all the baked goods, and it is very helpful if you can label them with info about flavor, nuts, gluten-free, etc.  Thanks so much!

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer at the Bake Sale Booth, contact Linda Jackson at (719) 510-2676  or Patty Burke at (719) 339-8037. Thank you!

The Advanced art class had the pleasure of seeing the amazing lamps Mr. Martinez-Vivot built using recycled materials.
#diaryofacsssenior #art #visiting artist

For the third year running, the CSS Communications Office has engaged senior students in an internship to help fuel our school's Instagram account. #DiaryofaCSSSenior is a year-long project capturing poignant moments and memories, on trend happenings, and the CSS story through the eyes of a student. This authentic storytelling and photo journal experience gives followers a true glimpse into life at The Colorado Springs School. Be sure to follow and share in this journey.

Please follow our Instagram or Facebook pages for additional posting and celebrations of student achievements.
Submit Achievements and Photos
Parents and teachers are encouraged to submit nominations and digital photos of student achievements to Jessica James, Director of Communications, at jjames@css.org. These extracurricular achievements make us a well-rounded school and highlight the many unique talents and passions of our student body.  Each week, a diverse selection of achievements is highlighted in ROAR.
