Training: Thursday, September 17, 8:30 a.m.,
Trianon Versailles Room

Seeking experienced Childrens' and Middle School parents!
The CSS VIP parent volunteer activity supports the admission and marketing program at The Colorado Springs School. From approximately late September through February each school
year, prospective families visit The Colorado Springs School for CSS parent-led small group tours (CS - parent visitors only) or student-led small group tours (MS/US).

Our Goals:
* To extend the services of the Office of Admission to all prospects, ensuring that parent questions are answered and that a personal touch is provided.
* To further develop the friendly, but selective, CSS community image.
* To educate prospective parents on the CSS community, opportunities for involvement, etc.

Volunteer Responsibilities - Four Options:
1. CS Parent Guides: Lead small, group tours on Tuesday mornings in the Children's School. 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.
a.m.; Starting week of October 6, 2015.
2. Callers: Call parents who have visited the school and requested a current parent telephone call.
3. Family Ambassadors: Matched with incoming families to help new family with CSS information.

Training provided! We would love to have your participation! If interested or if you would like more details, please contact Lorie Malone, VIP Parent Coordinator at loriemalone@gmail.com or Lisa KK, Director of Admission and Marketing at lisakk@css.org
RenWeb as a Student and Parent Resource
RenWeb is a fantastic tool for students and parents! Some of our students and parents favorite features include:

Family Directory: Looking for a student or parent? Filter by name or grade level for quick access to names, phone numbers and email addresses. Download the RenWeb app for iphones or androids to access this tool on the go!

Homework and Grades: Monitor homework assignments and grades for 5th - 12th grade students.

Lunch Menus: View the lunch menu and pay your student's lunch account through RenWeb.

ParentAlert System:
During inclement-weather or Emergency situations the school uses cell phones stored in RenWeb to send ParentAlerts. Please be sure your cell phone is enabled to receive these text messages. Students may also receive ParentAlerts.

Update Student Information:
Dynamically update family demographic information, medical records, permissions, and emergency contacts for your family through RenWeb.

Carnival's Coming! Save the Date, Join the Fun!
Friday, September 25, 2015 noon - 3:00 p.m.,
On the Quad

Carnival
Mark your calendars for this year's Carnival and get ready for a fun-filled afternoon for the entire CSS community. Kick off the fun by running in the Fun Run at 12:10 p.m. Next head on over to the quad to play games, win prizes, sing a little karaoke, feast on delicious food, purchase homemade baked goods and so much more! All funds raised go directly to CSS classrooms, grade-level activities, clubs, and organizations.

Each year, Carnival is produced entirely by the Parents Association. If you're a parent, that's you! Come help transform the quad into a carnival midway and meet new friends. Volunteer opportunities include working at a grade-level or club booth, providing home baked goods for the Bake Sale, helping with set up and tear down, and counting and selling game tokens.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Logistics Chair, Melissa Hoefler at (719)271-5160 (melishoefler@hotmail.com) or Booth Committee Chair, Ilise Garvin at (805)448-9172 (iliseric@gmail.com).
Calling All Bakers for Carnival
Friday, September 25, 2015

Bake Sale
The CSS Carnival needs baked goods for the annual Bake Sale on Friday, September 25.

Please send in any homemade goodies... cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, breads, treats and more. Variety is wonderful!

Both individual portions (example: baggies of several cookies) & whole items (cakes, pies, loaves of bread, etc.) are appreciated.

Drop off items at the Trianon on the morning of Carnival (starting at 7:30 a.m.). We will price all the baked goods, and it is very helpful if you can label them with info about flavor, nuts, gluten-free, etc.  Thanks so much!

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer at the Bake Sale Booth, contact Linda Jackson at (719) 510-2676  or Patty Burke at (719) 339-8037. Thank you!
