Summer Reading List
Keep those minds sharp and ready for school with recommended and required summer readings.

Middle School Please Note:
An email message will be sent out when Middle School summer reading books arrive as the required reading titles are provided from the school. When the books arrive, families may pick up their books from the receptionist's desk in the rotunda of the Trianon. There may or may not be someone manning the desk when you arrive, so for your convenience, there will be a clipboard with students' names sitting on the desk. When you have picked up the required reading books, please cross your son's or daughter's name off the list.

Students should look at the complete list of reading options for Kodiak Scholars beyond the required reading. Next year, we will have families purchase summer reading books for their sons and daughters. This will give students the flexibility to annotate freely, to purchase in an e-reader version if they desire, and to fully "love" their books.
School Supply Lists
Prepare for 2014-2015 school year!  Click below on the links for School Supply lists.

Note: You may have noticed the Children's School supply list is rather simple. CSS equips Children's School classrooms with basic supplies for students, such as pencils, paper, notebooks, glue, markers, etc.! Therefore the supplies your child needs for the first day of school are only personal supplies outlined on the supply list.

Correction from Awards Ceremony

At last week's Middle School Awards, eighth grader, Daniel D. earned the honor of receiving the Middle School Math Award. Mistakenly, Daniel D. went unrecognized during the ceremony, so we wished to extend Daniel's deserved honor in ROAR. This award was also given to Connor J. --- who was already recognized at the awards ceremony. Congratulations to both Daniel and Connor on the Middle School Math Award.

"The Middle School Math Award is typically awarded to a strong and dedicated math student. This defines Daniel D. in Geometry this year. Although there are some scheduling difficulties to being enrolled in an Upper School Geometry course as a Middle School student, these did not seem to bother Daniel. He seamlessly worked through the kinks as they arose and never missed a beat. If he had a question and could not find a study hall time to see me, he came to class a few minutes early or emailed his question. Daniel was responsible about working through lessons and learning the material, especially when the Upper School did not have classes due to Experience Centered Seminars. During this time, he was given a group of lessons to complete, with a quiz and test at the end. He did a great job staying on task during his class period and asked Mrs. Johnston when he had questions. Daniel did a wonderful job in class as well. He asked specific questions that demonstrated he understood the underlying concepts. It is my pleasure to award Daniel D. the Middle School Math Award this year," said Ms. Hedden, Upper School Math Teacher.
