 El Elyon is the Hebrew name which translated is the Most High God. We found our introduction to this name of God in Genesis 14. We talked about the reality that the Most High God is the one to go to--because He is not one among many, nor because He is just a touch above the rest...but HE IS ABOVE ALL! He is "Sovereign" over everything. He has the authority/ rights and the power/ability work as He pleases. He is the only one to exercise all He desires. Fortunately for us, the Most High God can work all things together for Good! God seems to have limited his sovereignty in creating creatures who have choices and will. God wants his creation to freely and willfully choose to love Him and to love each other above themselves! God doesn't force Himself on anyone & everyone ...otherwise everyone would follow Him! The Most High God took care of it all, but He doesn't make you come to Him. The Most High God made a choice to die for you. That's a God worth surrendering to. A God worth living for! God is for you... An no one can be against you!! That's a Most High God that's worth worshiping!
