Sunday  November 30 9:30 The whole family is invited for a time of communion, celebration & thanksgiving. This gathering will replace our morning Sunday school & church service & will include breakfast, foot washing, & the bread and cup. Childcare provided for nursery through 5th grade.

Hi! Karen Salas here...From my seat, at my desk and in the Body, I have the rare privilege of seeing you lovely people live your lives with HIM. I am in awe of you! This month I invite you to welcome The Edwards Family to our Newsletter cover....
We are the Edwards Family. Many of you know Kevin, but the rest of the family includes me, his wife, Tiffany, and children Grace 8, Caleb 6, and Lauren 3. Because life wasn't crazy enough we decided to add to the chaos and now have a 4 month old puppy, Licorice Gilligan. We live in East Long Beach in a neighborhood of single family homes. We live in a diverse neighborhood with many different types of families. We have families with children, retired couples, singles, and college students living on our block.
This all started when I decided to do what Pastor Phil had been telling us to do and to start the day asking God how he could use me. Click here to read more...

Children's Christmas Music

 Children's Christmas Music Celebration December 7th, 10:15AM
On December 7th the children will perform their Christmas music during the 10:15 church service. Practice Schedule For the 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s Classes October 26 - Nov 23 at 9:45AM in their Sunday school classrooms. On December 7, practice starts at 9:00AM with the performance at 10:15AM. |

 Equipping the Called
It's well said that God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. David and I fully embraced this because we knew that apart from Christ, we could do nothing. John 15 is just the tip of the iceberg! As we embarked on this journey of faith, a journey unlike we had ever known before with the Lord, we had to think about things like what it means to really abide, and how does God do that equipping He promises?
I think it's pretty clear that one of the main things God has been teaching us is patience. We had hoped to already be in the mission field, overseas, settled in and doing His work. When we first began support raising after candidate orientation and our commission service, we were fervently praying to be in Romania by the summer. Then, it was by the end of the year. Now, as we're rounding out 2014 and realizing December is right around the corner, we have to recognize we're not there yet.
