Two systems operate on our earth: the Kingdom of God and the World/Cosmos. We must seek to rid ourselves of the World and continue to pursue the Kingdom of God!
The advance of the world and it's evil forces continues to spread. This has been happening since Paul wrote his New Testament letters! As he addressed this issue in 2 Thessalonians 2, he mentioned the advance of lawlessness. Paul also mentioned that there is a "Restrainer" who is restraining the "mystery of lawlessness." This "restrainer" is the Holy Spirit and He resides in us.Since we who believe in Jesus have the Holy Spirit's presence in us,
we are part of the restraining force!
We are also
rescuers, growing the family of God by helping those who are lost find King Jesus. As this happens we are adding more to the restraining power of God's Kingdom on earth!
How shall we now live? Paul also addressed that in a different letter: 1 Timothy 2. Here's a summary:

Pray. That's where the power is...with God

Pray for all people, even those you don't know!

Pray for authorities - so that...we can live a tranquil and quiet life
We cannot forget that this is a cosmic battle- to move the restraining influence out of the way so the Evil One can get to his ultimate goal.
As Christians we must do the "Restraining work" of
1. Praying
2. Rescuing
3. Participating as heavenly citizens
