The Greatest is LOVE

On this special School Year Dedication Sunday, we recognized the new leadership in our school-- Principal Debra Martin and Assistant Principal Andrea Witbeck. We were delighted that all of our teachers and staff also joined us.

Pastor Phil invited us to pray for each one of these important mentors for the children in our school. Before he gave a challenge and dedication for the school year, Phil invited all the other educators in our church family to come to the front as well. The picture above is a panoramic of the entire front of our auditorium full of teachers and staff! The number of gifted people we have in our community is amazing!

In a challenge, to all of these, Phil chose couple of key ideas. The first was a quote from William Yeats:

Education isn't about filling up a pail,

but about igniting a fire.

Phil challenged these leaders to continue to stoke fires in the minds and hearts of the children they invest in everyday.

The other key idea was around sowing seeds. That's what education is like, you just keep sowing information, character, lessons and you never really know what is going to hit soil and sprout up.  But, keep sowing and those seed that grow and reproduce will bear much fruit for generations!

We also continued on in our Tour of 1 Corinthians, we talked about the passage on love in 1 Corinthians 13:
