HE IS RISEN!
Celebrating our Lord's Resurrection on Sunday was great! The resurrection is the "final stamp" that Jesus is with us and will be with us forever!

For us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (Romans 4:24, 25 NIV)

The resurrection was for our justification- a legal transaction with God where we who believe on Jesus are "declared not guilty." We often focus on the cross, but the resurrection sealed the deal of salvation!

He is risen!  He is risen indeed!

Christos a nviat!  This is the traditional Romanian greeting from Easter until the day of ascension, proclaiming that Christ is risen. The traditional reply is "Adevărat a nviat," or He is risen indeed, as we call it. But that exchange, like much of the rest of religion in Romania, is oftentimes uttered more out of duty or habit than out of relational joy and walking in the power of its truth.

Most Romanians identify very well with the suffering Savior, having endured the harshness of communism and seemingly never-ending economic struggles. That's part of why...               Read more from the Bashores >
