STOP FIGHTING START ASKING
|
In our series from the letter by James, we picked up in chapter 4: What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. (vs. 1-2) We don't have peace because we haven't dealt with the desires inside us! In this passage, we see that the word for "desires" = same word as hedonism. We want what we want when we want it! It's how we are with our sin nature! It leads to fighting and quarreling! James tells us that there are somethings that we want, but that "you don't have because you don't ask God." Stop fighting, start asking! Something in our lives is missing...we have to ask God...who can actually deliver it! That is His Answer! Submit therefore to God.... Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

ANGEL TREE STARTS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 24th
Give Joy to a Prisoner's Kid this Christmas. When mom or dad is in prison, it's the children who do hard time. But you can let them know they are not forgotten. You can give them a gift on behalf of their imprisoned parent and in the name of Jesus.
We are so glad to be a part of the Angel Tree outreach this Christmas season. Next Sunday is the first one when you can select a child. There will be a table with the children we can adopt to bless this Christmas season on behalf of their incarcerated parent.
If you can help, contact our church coordinator Pete Anderson by email.
