THE REAL GOD LOVES YOU!
Our own Bill Salas shared a heartfelt and passionate message from Psalm 139 about the truths of our Real God. 

Vs 1-4 The Real God knows me

Searched. God looked me over

God continues to look me over, & He still wants to know me

God knows my day...and even my thoughts!

Nothing can be hidden from God.


Vs 5-12 The Real God is with me

God is with me, and is guiding me too!

...even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. (Psalm 139:4, 10 NIV)


Vs 13-16 The Real God's creative expression is you!

God knit you together!

You are WONDERFUL!  He made you that way!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
(Psalm 139:14 NIV)


Vs 17-18 The Real God inspires awe

 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
   How vast is the sum of them! (Psalm 139:17 NIV)


Vs 19-22 The Real God allows you an honest relationship

I can fail, and God still cares!


Vs 23-24 The Real God wants the real you

Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts. (vs 23)

We are safe with Him!

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP NIGHT    

Friday August 16th

from 6-9pm  

at Los Altos Grace (Fellowship Hall).     

 

Our first night was a great start, and yet we are going to need some help with our next time. Let us know if you would be willing to do any of the following:

1) Transportation- pick up/drop off student(s)

2) Food coordinator.

3) Be a Table Talk person - conversation leader(Question asker!!!)

4) Help Setup/Clean up

5) Could you lead/play an Americana folk song? (ex: Yankee Doodle Dandy, others) Maybe give a little history with it and teach it to our group.

MOMENTUM - GRACE BRETHREN YOUTH CONFERENCE GOING ON NOW 
Our own Kayla, Korey & Mike Jentes are now with nearly 2000 other followers of Jesus being challenged by world-class speakers and workshops.  It has been a dynamic week so far, and we beg for your prayers for us and for the entire conference.

HOST JAPANESE STUDENTS THIS FALL

We have a golden opportunity to share the love of Christ with the Japanese in our own homes!

Compass USA has been bringing students from the Osaka, Japan area for the last 7 years.  This year 110 middle school students are visiting America through this particular program.  Their stay in the Long Beach area is from 10/31 - 11/4. The students arrive early afternoon on Thursday, go to Disneyland on Friday, spend the weekend with their host family and then depart on Monday morning.

Last year some of our church family hosted students:
"We really enjoyed hosting two girls last fall.  Nanako and Tomoyo were sweet and appreciated our time together. They were eager to try all kinds of food and to go to the mall and the beach.  It was hard to say goodbye at the end of the weekend.  We loved hosting these two girls and are signed up for this Fall!" - Shelly Deaton

Again, it's a short stay, but a great investment.  It provides a great opportunity to engage with the other side of the world in our own home as well as a simple opportunity to love them with Christ's love.  In exchange, your family has the opportunity to get a scholarship for your children to travel to another country:  Japan, France or Spain.  You can see the details here at http://aili.us .
