THE GOVERNMENT WILL REST ON
HIS SHOULDERS
 In response to our call to Pray for America, our choir pieced together a powerful mini-concert for our Sunday worship time including 4 songs and some special readings by Phil Helfer and Mike McGinnis.

After that we looked at Isaiah 9, which we normally don't get around to until Christmas time. Reflect on it again:
The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
(Isaiah 9:2 NIV)
We belong to the kingdom of light, yes we have citizenship here in America, but if we follow Jesus He is our King. And His Kingdom is of light!
For a child will be born to us,
a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government
or of peace,... (Isaiah 9:6-7 NASB)
A Child was Born & a Son was given--these are not the same thing. Jesus has always existed, but he took on flesh and was born into our world. He has always be the Son of our Father God, and the Father gave Jesus to be our Savior.
The government will rest on His shoulders! In the same way that Christ came, this is is true as well--Jesus will shoulder the government of our world!
Take heart, no matter what happens in the election, God's plan and purpose will be accomplished. He will do what He has promised!
Our King Jesus' government will continue to increase! It is starting even now. As we continue to submit to the King...His Kingdom continues to increase in our hearts and in our world. And peace will continue to grow as well! Bring on the peace Lord Jesus!
