WORSHIP & OBEDIENCE
When we hear the word obedience, we tend to think of a couple of things: 1) a list of rules to "obey" and 2) our motivation to obey is merely "because I said so."

On Sunday, we were challenged to know that obedience to God is not a list! It is much more personal and vibrant than that. It comes out of our relationship with our Creator.
Even though it is really "enough
motivation" for us to obey when God says to us "Obey me because I said so" -- He wants us to grow in our understanding of how He loves us. As we see how much He loves us, we will joyfully obey Him!
We ought to be about a constantly growing, and intimately personal relationship with our God. This is His goal, and what He made us for!
In the first of Peter's letters in the New Testament, we see that when he addresses his audience, he marks out the following:
You are chosen by God that you might be able to obey Jesus Christ!
(1 Peter 1:1-2)
As Paul writes to the Romans, from the very beginning he writes about "receiving grace... to bring about the obedience of faith!" (Romans 1:5 NASB)
Obedience and faith are bound together. Our belief moves our actions! Won't you start to try this out by doing this experiment:
Wake up in the morning and say, "Here am I Jesus, use me." Then obey Jesus throughout your day. That is truly bringing Him worship!
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. (Romans 12:1 NASB)
Worship is obedience and obedience is worship!

40 DAYS of PRAYING and FASTING FOR AMERICA
- The Holy Spirit is wooing many across the USA to mark out the next 40 days as an important time to lift up our country to the Lord in prayer...won't you pray and fast too?!?!
- We opened an "Online Sign Up List" on "Volunteer Spot" to have 3 people commit to pray EACH Day for America:
- Author Eric Metaxas also set up a Facebook Group to encourage prayer, fasting and the sharing of stories which you can see here
- Also has been an online community called American Prayer Initiative that has been already praying and circulating daily prayers with Election Day in mind.

 A GOOD VIRUS TO CATCH...
Have you ever been in a small room with a person who is hacking and coughing and you try to cover your mouth and nose so you don't catch the ugly virus that is now airborne? Well, I have a virus that I think everyone SHOULD catch, it is called the ten2b virus. This is a virus that not only will not hurt you, it will help heal the world! Let me quickly explain how it works. Jesus said in Luke 10 that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. You see, Jesus saw the reality that many people are ready to receive the good news about Jesus but the problem with the harvest is that there are not enough people willing to work in the fields that are white for harvest (John 4). Even with this problem, Jesus has the remedy or, if you will, the virus that we need to catch. Here is his answer to the problem, "Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field." That is the ten2b virus, to simply pray and ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into the harvest fields. |

Many of you have known that Pastor Phil was asked by our own friend/missionary Neil Cole to co-author a book. His diligence in the work has paid off!
Just a couple of weeks ago was the official release of Phil and Neil's book titled:

OUR FOOD PANTRY NEEDS FOOD 
Bring non-perishable food items to help stock the food bank. This is a great time to make use of those buy one get one free opportunities at supermarkets. Buy one for you and get the second one for the food bank! Or, you can just go through your pantry and find the items that you intended to use but didn't. Check the expiration dates and bring those items that are not expired but you don't really need
