One Family's Story-Understanding the Journey

boy by airplane

After Louise and her husband received a diagnosis for their son, Robert, they felt unsure about what to do next, "We had a diagnosis but nowhere to go." A speech therapist recommended the Collaborative Therapies Conference presented by Raising Special Kids at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Louise, still feeling overwhelmed by her son's diagnosis, decided to attend. Talking with staff between presentations led to assistance with her son's IEP, a parent mentoring connection, information about Individual Service Plans, and other resources.

Robert has made significant progress, but Louise knows there is still work to be done and likes the reassurance of having a parent mentor. "She is my sounding board whenever I'm thinking of trying something new or looking for guidance."

Raising Special Kids needs your help to serve more families like Louise's. Please make your donation today through our secure online system.

If you itemize on your taxes, here is a special tax credit you should know about.

Raising Special Kids is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
