If you're attracted to some of the bolder trends, these tips may help you incorporate your favorite(s) in a way that will spice up your style without going over the top. Have some fun!
Nordstrom Astr
On the runway, they did it this way:
Transparent skirts over granny panties and bare legs left nothing to hide.
In a real day, do it this way:
Wear an attractive slip underneath a transparent skirt so there is full coverage. This way you won't worry about revealing too much. The skirt to the left from Nordstrom could easily be adapted for more modest wear.
On the runway, they did it this way:
High neck crop tops with bare midriffs showing, paired with knee-length skirts.
In a real day, do it this way:
Pair a high neck boxy crop top over a lean, long, untucked undershirt in a matching color with a waisted pant. This is the more modest, wearable choice for most people and prevents any possible muffin top.
On the runway, they did it this way:
Ruffles were so wild and crazy that they made outfits look like fantasy costumes.
In a real day, do it this way:
Wear ruffles that don't overpower your shape but rather accentuate the parts of your body you want to accentuate.
Lauren Ralph Lauren, Lord & Taylor
On the runway, they did it this way:
Wore revealing slip dresses without undergarments.
In a real day, do it this way:
This trend is one that I think is better left to the younger set. (IMHO) Pick an easier dress style to wear, like a shift dress. Fortunately dresses are abundant in many styles and lengths (at last!) and you don't need a model's figure to wear them. Undergarments should always provide the support you need - if it's Spanx, so be it. Wear what works for you.
Milly clutch, Bloomingdale's
On the runway, they did it this way:
Long fringe on dresses and skirts flew in every direction with every step the models took.
In a real day, do it this way:
Get your fringe fix with fringe details on handbags, clutches, or flat ankle boots. If you're ready for more flair, get a fringed leather jacket.
