Quick Tips to Always Look Your Best

Greetings!
I don't know about you, but the month of May has just started and already I feel like the calendar is so jam-packed with 'stuff' to do. There are fun things, like celebrating our mothers early in the month, and our graduating students at the end of the month. There are business meetings all month, including (for me) the upcoming International Conference with my fellow image consulting colleagues in Phoenix mid-month. (Actually that's a fun thing too - can't wait!) In between all the planned activities are the impromptu things that crop up that need attention. I'm sure your life is just as hectic as mine - and isn't it easy to start to cut corners with your self-care? You start to slack off a little bit here and there and before you know it, you're starting to feel a bit dissatisfied with how you're managing things - including your appearance. Rather than letting it overwhelm you to the point where you need an overhaul, or stressing because you're not handling everything perfectly, sometimes you just need reminding that there are some quick and easy things you can do every day that will keep you on track. And if you need a further reminder of how we're often the source of our own stress, you can watch the great video put out by Dove this month (scroll down to watch) that totally went viral on-line. It's something we all, as women, need to be reminded of. Happy May!

QUICK TIPS TO ALWAYS LOOK YOUR BEST
Sometimes we need a fashion "overhaul" (and that's when you call in a professional like myself), but sometimes just a few "tweaks" will keep us tuned up when we're super busy. Here are a few to keep your fashion mojo going.
-Don't skimp on skin care. Sounds like a no-brainer, right? But it's amazing how skipping two basic steps can make such a difference in your complexion. Don't cut these corners - stick with the basics: always moisturize and use SPF. At night, always take off your make-up and moisturize again. (By the way, I've just started the Nerium program for nighttime skin care. It's pretty amazing! If you want to check it out, click here. Of course, you can always email me for more info too.) - If you've fallen off the exercise wagon, hop back on with this quick little 10-minute workout video from Pop Sugar. Sometimes all it takes is starting with 10 minutes (and anyone can spare 10 minutes in their day, yes?) and you'll be back on track. | Victoria's Secret Model Workout: 10-Minute Fat-Blasting Circuit | -Know your go-to make-up essentials and don't leave home without them. In fact, don't stay at home without them either! What are the two or three items of make-up that make you look instantly pulled-together? For me, it's always my red lipstick, blush and eyebrow pencil I always wear at least those three items, even when I'm at home with no one else around. It just makes me feel good!

- Accessorize, even if it's a bracelet. When going out, throw a lightweight, colorful scarf around your neck for instant pizazz. Sometimes, just a pair of cute shoes can make all the difference in how you look and feel.
-Mix up your special occasion separates and wear them with your everyday basics. A sparkly top can look great when teamed up with your jeans and wedges. Pair your sequin skirt with a white tee or blouse and flats. You'll feel instantly attractive.
-If you typically wear only neutrals, try adding just one 'pop' of color in your outfit, like a scarf, or belt, or necklace, or shoes. Try it once this week, then twice next week. You might just like all the compliments you get!
-Even when lounging at home, wear something that makes you happy. For examjple, I think these white, lace-trimmed pants would make me very happy just hanging out at home.
-Flip through fashion magazines and tear out pictures of looks that excite you. Keep them in a file, or pin to your inspiration board, or put them in your personal look-book (binder with plastic sleeves), and use them for your daily inspiration. (If you're using Pinterest, start a 'My Style' Inspiration Board.)
-Carry your personal Style Formula in your wallet to keep you on track when you're shopping. You'll feel more confident, knowing that you're staying 'true' to your individual style personality. (If you need helping in defining your Style Formula, let me know. I'm happy to help!)
