Holiday Dressing Three Ways

December 2012

Greetings!

With all of the to-do lists we all have this time of year, one thing you don't want to worry about is what you're going to wear to holiday functions.  The three 'mix it up' options I share in this month's newsletter will hopefully spark some ideas for how you can play around with some of the basics you already have in your closet.

Sometimes all it takes is a special necklace or bracelet to up the amps on your favorite holiday outfit, sometimes it's a special shoe or purse. Have some fun mixing high-end with low-end, sparkle with denim, baubles with leather.  However you choose to mix it up in your closet, have some fun with it and you'll be merry and bright!

MIX IT UP:  Basic Pencil Skirt

The basic black pencil skirt can be your holiday workhorse - taking you from the office holiday party to the opera or to the more casual house party. Almost everyone has this classic in their closet - play with it and see how many variations you can come up with.

MIX IT UP:  Metallic Brocade Skirt

Brocade is so popular this year - perhaps it's a skirt or it might be a cigarette pant that you'll be working. Either way, it can serve in so many settings, even the office if you pair it with more conservative items. Gold and black is a key trend this season, but if gold isn't your best color pick the metallic that works for you - it adds instant pizazz to any outfit.

MIX IT UP: CREAM PEPLUM SWEATER

While peplum is another popular trend this year, if you have any dressy cream-colored (winter white, ivory) sweater it will work equally well as a great mix 'n match basic.  Your options are virtually unlimited.  Pick accessories that 'pop' to make this classic piece make a strong holiday statement.

"If the only prayer you said was thank you,
that would be enough."

We just celebrated the 'holiday of gratitude' - Thanksgiving - and now we're moving quickly toward the end of another year.  I truly believe we can't say 'thank you' enough, so I want to take this moment to thank all of you for your support this year.  It's come in many forms - phone calls, lunches, emails, texts, and even just in readership.  All of it, and all of you, mean so much to me.  I wish you and your loved ones a very special holiday season, and look forward to more 'style talk' next year.

All my best to all of you!
