A Christmas Prayer
Loving Father,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May the Christ- mas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven,
Celebrate the Messiah with us THIS Sunday! Services are at 7:15 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:30 AM. Your Metropolitan Baptist Church Family

It's Time for Sunday School!
Dedication of FirstbornOur Sunday School lesson this week will focus on God's command to the Israelites to "set apart" the firstborn males of certain animals to Him. This lesson bridges the old and new testaments. By examining the Old Testament context of having "set apart" or consecrating the sacrifice of the first born male, we will examine the significance of this event in history and how it applies to the life of Jesus Christ. Joseph and Mary followed the Law of Moses by bringing Jesus to the Temple to be "set apart" as the Law instructed the nation to do in ancient biblical times. By following the Law, Joseph and Mary was fulfilling God's promise. By the end of this week's lesson, we will: - Explore the story of Simeon at the presentation of Jesus at the temple;
- Feel the immenseness of joy that Simeon felt;
- Commit to make Jesus the center of attention during the secular busyness of the season.
Bible Background: Exodus 13:11-16; Luke 2: 21-39 Devotional Reading: 2 Chronicles 30:5-12 Sunday School will begin at the conclusion of the 7:15 a.m. service. The Adult Class will meet in the main sanctuary promptly at 8:30 a.m. |

Thank You Metropolitan
To My Metropolitan Baptist Church Family,
Your words of condolence, expressions of kindness and prayers were a source of strength and comfort to me and my family as we came to terms with my aunt Doris Vanterpool's sudden passing. Doris loved to worship at Metropolitan when she visited me during the years that she lived in Richmond. On one occasion after Doris moved back to St. Thomas, she surprised Pastor and Mrs. Hicks when she called Pastor's name as they were shopping on Main Street and she would often ask me "How is my Pastor doing?" Doris will be sorely missed. by all who knew her and love her.
Be Blessed & Stay Encouraged!
Rev. Arnette Georges
Our Condolences
Rev. Clarafrancie Cromer and family in the sudden passing of her sister Angela Cromer DeRamus.
