Dr. Maurice Watson and Family
Dr. Maurice Watson is the former Senior Pastor of Beulahland Bible Church located in Macon, Georgia. He was born the seventh of eight children in Little Rock, Arkansas. At the age of 16 he accepted the call to preach the gospel and two years later was ordained.
Dr. Watson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Philander Smith College in Little Rock and was class Valedictorian. He earned a MA Degree in Theology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Watson's first pastorate was at St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, where he served for 7 years. In November 1988, Dr. Watson accepted the call to pastor the Salem Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska, where he served for 15 ½ years. In early 2004, sensing a new call of God on his life, Dr. Maurice Watson accepted the senior pastorate of Beulahland Bible Church in Macon, Georgia with the primary goal of impacting the world from Middle Georgia. His leadership took Beulahland to a second location of worship in Warner Robins, Georgia in February 2005. Dr. Watson's vision of faith on the fast track didn't stop there. Under his leadership, the church constructed a second worship facility on its Macon campus. The membership now enjoys a state-of-the-art 2500 seat sanctuary.
Dr. Watson also has a dynamic itinerant preaching ministry that extends across the continent and globe. Dr. Watson is married to the former Janice Hall and they have two beautiful daughters.

A Prayer for Metropolitan Baptist Church

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown new year to a known God." - Anonymous
Gracious and Eternal God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we humbly come before Your thrown of grace, with Holy Ghost boldness because we know You to be an all knowing, all wise, wonder working God that can be trusted with every detail of our lives.
We know You to be a God Who is honest and faithful... a promise keeping God, Who is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. A God that has an ear to hear the cries of Your children... a God that loves us unconditionally... a God of another chance... a God Who looks past our faults and sees our need for a Healer, a Deliverer, a Provider, a Sanctifier, a Reconciler, a Redeemer, and a Savior.
We know You to be a God Who responds to our faith... You meet us in our desert places... You wipe our tears away in the midnight hour... You come to see about us in the midst of our affliction... You provide peace during our storms... rest in times of weariness... strength when we are weak... restoration when we are broken... joy in our struggles... comfort for our sorrow... and sunshine after the rain.
We know You to be a God Who makes a way out of no way... You write our prescriptions when we are sick... You are our refuge in times of trouble... You are our defender in the courtroom... our caretaker to prodigal sons and daughters... our source when our resources are depleted... our mind regulator during stressful times... our GPS when we are lost...and our hedge of protection from every scheme and attack of the enemy.
We know You to be a God Who never leaves us nor forsakes us... a God that honors Your Word... You are no respecter of persons... we can call on You any time of the day or night and You'll answer... You cover us in the blood of Jesus Christ...You fill us with the power of Your Holy Spirit... You order our steps... anoint our head with oil... extend to us Your grace and Your mercy... forgive us of our sins, and pour out abundant blessings upon our lives that those connected to us are benefactors of the overflow.
We know You to be an awesome God! We serve as witnesses and testify that You are a praise-worthy God! A God deserving of our adoration and thanksgiving! A God to be magnified! A God to be exalted! A God that welcomes our worship! A God that rejoices in getting the glory out of our very lives! Oh God, when we think about Your goodness, and all that You have done for us... our souls cry out HALLELUJAH!!!
We know You to be an on time God! So tonight God, we are expecting a great Word from You... we need to hear from You Lord... Father, we need to hear from You! Father, we stretch our hand to You alone... we need an answer to our petition... a miracle for our circumstance... an instruction for our situation... a directive for our dilemma... a solution to our problem... Father, it's me Oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer! Father, we are asking, we are seeking, and we are knocking! Speak Lord, Your children are listening... speak Lord, Your sons and daughters have an ear to hear... speak Lord, Your babies are receptive... speak Lord; we need Your Word!
We know You to be a God we can depend on... for over fifty years You have afforded this preacher to mount pulpits all over this land as a yielded vessel to declare, "thus saith the Lord." Anoint afresh our under-shepherd... sanctify his soul, steady his steps, stand in him... where he is weak, make him strong; and make the proclamation of Your Word easy.
Oh Lord, we give You all the honor, all the praise, and all the glory, in the matchless name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, Amen.
