AMERICAN REPERTORY BALLET
PRINCETON BALLET SCHOOL
Happy November!
Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy ARB's Fall Season performances!  Here some highlights, reviews and images of the season...

Fall Kick-Off Performances at Rider University:

"The company is in great shape and the program runs the gamut of emotions from romantic love to joyful camaraderie to tender affection, to despicable, ugly hate."

Douglas Martin's Romeo and Juliet at State Theatre
with Rutgers Symphony Orchestra under Kynan Johns:

"majestic," spectacular," and "elaborate."

Jerry Hochman in CriticalDance wrote:
"That [audience members] were entertained, and moved, by what they saw was clear, and the standing ovation that greeted the cast and orchestra at the performance's conclusion was enthusiastic and genuine. As much of a small miracle as the production and performance was, the engaged and enthralled audience was a small miracle as well."

American Artist Showcase
at UC PAC's Hamilton Stage:
"ARB's fresh, wondering, fantasy-filled approach to motion and color requires plenty of aesthetic intelligence. When you don't have such smarts, you get a production that's kinetic, flashy, and crudely imagined, like the American Ballet Theatre's recent Swan Lake. But when you have the right depth and discipline, you get something closer to the
American Artist Showcase.

Marina Kennedy in Broadway World says, "Artistic Director, Douglas Martin and Resident Choreographer and Ballet Master, Mary Barton continue to take the company to new heights with challenging works that fully display the talents of their dancers."

I Scream!  You Scream!  Bent Spoon has a special Nutcracker Ice Cream!
On Tuesday, November 5 there was a special election...for The Bent Spoon's new ice cream flavor in honor of our 50th Nutcracker Season!

The new flavor, "Clara's Dream" will be a Spoon-made, Nutcracker-inspired concoction that will benefit ARB's Nutcracker fund. Voters chose from three delicious options:
A: Creamy marzipan ice cream with salty-sweet chocolate covered almonds
B: Pink-peppermint ice cream (naturally colored and with organic peppermint!) with Spoon-made chocolate Russian cookies
C: Smoked tea ice cream swirled with chocolate-covered candied ginger

And the winner is...Choice B - Pink Peppermint!

Those of you who voted for another flavor, don't despair - stay tuned for The Bent Spoon's "Nutcracker Day" on November 21st when they may serve all 3 of the proposed flavors.
