ARB at Jacob's Pillow - Kickstarter Update
|
 | |
|
If you haven't been following our Kickstarter Campaign, you've been missing some great history and fun facts about Jacob's Pillow and our quest to make it there. Here's a recap:
In Update #1, we pointed you to the Jacob's Pillow documentary, Never Stand Still,(available on Netflix and DVD) to illustrate the importance of this festival in the dance world, and the honor we feel for being invited to perform this year.
In Update #2, we traced the origins and legacy of Jacob's Pillow founder Ted Shawn, and compared his Men Dancers with Patrick Corbin's Follia - a piece we plan to perform there August 16 at 6:15pm. Check out the uncanny similarity between the two:

In Update #3, we shared legendary Balanchine ballerina Suzanne Farrell's experience first coming to the Pillow to perform in the 1970s: "When I came and danced here, I could feel what I call the dust of those who were here before. I like to think that I left a little of my own dust." ARB can't wait to leave some of our special "dust" on the hallowed ground of the Pillow. ARB Dancer Andrea D'Annunzio tells, in her blog, about her excitement making the pilgrimage to the dance mecca of the Pillow.
And in Update #4, we shared ARB dancer Karen Leslie Moscato's first experience going to the Pillow as an 8 year old, and her dream to perform there someday. That dream can become a reality, but only with your help...
This campaign ends in 10 days!
We're just over halfway there, but Kickstarter is an "all-or-nothing" gamble - if we don't meet our $5,000 fundraising goal, we don't receive any of the funds pledged so far. We hope you will help us cover some expenses of dancing in the Jacob's Pillow Dance Fesitval Inside/Out performance series. We will be so proud to share the work of our talented artists on the world stage. Every donation will help us get there!
Thank you so much for your support!
All donations are tax deductible.
P.S. Please share with your friends!
