Happy August!

 | | ARB dancers fresh out of company class on the first day of the 2013-2014 Season. |
The Company is back in the studio! The dancers began the season this week with rehearsals for Mary Barton's Straight Up with a Twist and Patrick Corbin's Follia for the Jacob's Pillow Dance Fesitval Inside/Out Performance Series. Thanks to all our friends and fans for helping Kickstart us to the festival. With your help, we exceeded our $5,000 fundraising goal, raising $5,525 in just 21 days to help us cover the costs of dancing at the historic festival. We hope to see some of you there tomorrow!
ARB is pleased to welcome Nanako Yamamoto to the company for the 2013-14 season! Born and raised in Japan, Nanako began her training at the Geijutsuza Ballet Studio and at The Royal Ballet School's summer program. She continued her training at the Elmhurst School for Dance in Association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in the UK where she performed in the Birmingham Royal Ballet's National Tour of Firebird, Fokine's Petrushka, Petipa's Ramonda, and much more. Recently, she performed with New Tampa Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Tampa, Ballet Fleming and in Giselle with Boca Ballet Theatre alongside Julie Kent and Marcelo Gomes.

 | | Linda Wang |
Linda Wang is working as a Fundraising/VIP Concierge Intern in the Development Department at Jacob's Pillow. A typical day for Linda can involve a multitude of activities, including: processing requests from the Ted Shawn Circle members and Board members; processing donations and writing acknowledgement letters; working in a variety of database software; helping to plan, set up, and clean up special events; helping in the box office; meeting and greeting patrons and guest artists and much more, including taking community dance class in the morning, and attending performances!
"The internship program they have at the Pillow is so challenging and beneficial at the same time. The interns are treated as coworkers, and they put so much trust and responsibility on us, it's impossible not to learn something new and do something new everyday. I appreciate everything that every intern here does, the Festival would not be running without the help of every single one of us. We are all so supportive of each other, it's really an amazing experience."
