During the weekend of the Swan Lake performances, we also gave a special salute to our graduating seniors and announced our 2013-14 merit scholarship recipients.  Click here to read more about them.
 
With the end of the 2012-2013 school year behind us, summer at Princeton Ballet School has begun!  Open classes for teens and adults began June 3 and run through July 25.  Other summer programs - the renowned Summer Intensive, Summer Intensive Intermediates, Summer Intensive Juniors, and classes for children - run June 24 through July 26 (Summer Intensive Intermediates runs through August 2).  The Summer Intensive will culminate with a performance - An Evening of Dance - at the Berlind Theatre on July 26 at 6:30 pm.
 
Later this summer, the Company will be performing at Jacob's Pillow!  The Pillow will present American Repertory Ballet as part of its Festival 2013 Inside/Out performance series on August 16 at 6:15pm on the open-air Henry J. Leir Stage.  We'll be gearing up for this performance as well as our other exciting engagements for the 2013-14 season!  Below you'll find a list of our upcoming 2013 performances, including dates for our 50th Annual Nutcracker Season!

Princeton Ballet School's Summer Intensive Welcomes Students from Around the World!

Princeton Ballet School will be bustling with activity in Princeton and Cranbury this summer!  Princeton Ballet School's acclaimed Summer Intensive program will be welcoming talented students from across the US and from Canada, Italy, Japan, and South Africa to Princeton, NJ!  Students will be spending their days studying hard in our beautiful Princeton Studios, and evenings enjoying campus life in the dorms at Princeton University's picturesque campus.

 

Princeton Ballet School Director, Mary Pat Robertson, and American Repertory Ballet Artistic Director, Douglas Martin, will lead the Summer intensive program alongside Princeton Ballet School's impressive array of faculty, including: Kathleen Moore, Mary Barton, Maria Youskevitch, and special guest artists.
 
Summer Intensive 2012

Summer Intensive Intermediates (ages 11-14) will be led by faculty Katie Scibienski, Erika Mero, and Edward Urwin at Princeton Ballet School's Cranbury location.   This program is for young dancers at a high intermediate level, ready for pivotal changes in their dance lives. Many are just beginning pointe work or are getting ready to go on pointe. There is Young Men's Class for the male attendees.
 
Summer Intensive Juniors (ages 9-11) will be led by faculty member Jennifer Gladney on Princeton University's campus. This program is also for intermediate dancers. A day in the Juniors program includes technique, variations, and dance-related activities such as crafting costume pieces and journaling about experiences. Summer Children's Classes (click) to learn more about Princeton Ballet School's summer classes for children ages 3-12.  Summer Open Classes (click) for info about summer open classes.  These classes are for ages 13+ and can be taken on a drop-in basis.

 Jacob's Pillow will present American Repertory Ballet as part of its Festival 2013 Inside/Out performance series on the beautiful open-air Henry J. Leir Stage, overlooking the Berkshire Hills.  ARB will perform Patrick Corbin's Follia and Mary Barton's Straight Up with a Twist.

Season

ARB's Nutcracker has been a beloved holiday tradition since 1964, when the company, then known as Princeton Regional Ballet, began to perform the ballet annually, making this Holiday Season ARB's 50th Annual Nutcracker Season.

March 7, 2014 - Spring Repertory Preview 

At this lecture-demonstration, get a taste of ARB's Spring 2014 performances. Excerpts will be showcased by the dancers of ARB, and discussion will be led by Artistic Director Douglas Martin. This On Pointe is recommended for ages 5 and up.

 

April 4, 2014 - Dancing Your Way into College
Advice for dancers looking towards an undergraduate education. This 
On Pointe is recommended for high school students.

May 2, 2014 - Dancer Nutrition 

A lecture about how to develop healthy eating habits for peak 

performance.  This On Pointe is recommended for ages 8 and up. 

 

June 6, 2014 - Faculty and Staff Concert

A showcase of choreography created by Princeton Ballet School faculty and ARB employees. This On Pointe is recommended for all ages.
