"It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse oneself, even at a young age, into the fully created world of a great work of art, and make that work part of your mental landscape."
- Princeton Ballet School Director Mary Pat Robertson

Princeton Ballet School has been presenting a professional-quality, full-length ballet production in the spring for over 60 years.  Any Princeton Ballet School student enrolled in Children's Ballet 1 and above is able to participate in the annual spring production, including young students in children's ballet levels and adult students in open enrollment classes.  All rehearsals take place outside of regular technique classes, as Princeton Ballet School is committed to providing performance opportunities alongside continued technical training.

This year, the School tackled Swan Lake, an iconic classical ballet wrought with tradition.  Princeton Ballet School's 2013 production features original choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, with additional choreography and staging by ARB Workshop Ballet Master Mary Barton, Douglas Martin, ARB Workshop Ballet Master Maria Youskevitch, Mary Pat Robertson, ARB Workshop Juniors Ballet Mistress Cheryl Whitney-Marcuard, and faculty members Laurie Abramson, Anne Gribbins, Erika Mero, and Katie Scibienski.  The most advanced ARB Workshop dancers - ARB/Princeton Ballet School Trainees and students of Princeton Ballet School's Professional Training Program (PTP) - have been working intensively with Maria Youskevitch, who is the 2013 recipient of ARB's Audrée Estey Award for Excellence in Dance Education.
Access & Enrichment
ARB Trainees recently performed Grumpy Bird, a ballet by Matthew Keefe based on a children's book by Jeremy Tankard, for New Brunswick school students.  Each educational assembly was presented to packed auditoriums of over 400 students.  Over three days, May 1-3, ARB took Grumpy Bird and his friends to five different schools: Paul Robeson, Catholic Charities, Lord Sterling, Roosevelt, and McKinley.
