Welcome to the new 'U'!

As we emerge from the month of Ramadan, with the blessing of restored energy and renewed hope, we pray that Allah forgives our sins and that our prayers are accepted.

This Ramadan alhamdulilLah we've served the needy at Breakfast Club, begun supporting a local domestic abuse shelter, started working with Seminole County on a Back 2 School Bash, collected almost over 600 back to school Hydration and hygiene gift packs for underprivileged children and supported MWO's Eid Drive with bags of beautiful outfits for local families who need a hand. We cannot thank our volunteers and donors enough for their support!

This Eid, UMF is thrilled to present our updated website with social media integration, and that we are bringing back eveyone's favorite UMF Coffee Encounters! We've made it super easy for you to see our calendar of events so you can register for and be reminded of any events you sign up to attend. We are pleased to announce that  #ISupportUniTea is now an ongoing campaign (use this hashtag with your Eid & Charity posts) and we are very excited to present our 2015 Scholarship award of $4,000 this Eid to a deserving scholar who's Harvard bound for her Master's degree.

If that's not enough to make you smile, read on to hear what we've been up to, what's new and what you can do to help. Because there's no UMF without 'U' :)

This Ramadhan, Muslim children poured out their love to children in need, by sponsoring UMF Hyrdation and Hygiene Gift Bags. The delightful colors attracted children (and adults) of all ages who came to the UMF Booth to purchase one for themselves. When they discovered they could only purchase them for another child in need, it was like little light bulbs going off, as they stood there and thought about children going to school in the Florida heat, without water bottles to keep them hydrated. Their desire to want for other's what they would want for themselves was overpowering and over 600 gift bags were sponsored for the needy. Proud parents commented on how UMF's booth was one of the best they had ever seen and were delighted at how excited their children were to be given the power to make a difference. AlhamdulilLah for little giving hearts!

This Ramadhan, in the FL heat of 105*, fasting men, women and children gathered at UMF Breakfast Club to serve the needy.

It was truly amazing to see the inner strength and willpower with which even the youngest fasting volunteers braved the heat, as they focused helping those less fortunate. Volunteers stood firm putting out donations that were eagerly picked up, and serving hot pancakes and eggs, and cold orange juice, enjoyed by all.

Our bicycle raffle for the needy was presented to a young girl who came in the scorching heat with no shoes on her feet. This little girl left happy and excited on her new bicycle, safely strapped in with a helmet, with a pair of sandals on her feet, and with beautiful henna freshly applied on her hands by a volunteer.

Join us for our next Breakfast Club July 25th alongside volunteers who give of their early weekend mornings, as we interact with the needy, sharing words of inspiration and encouragement to feed longing hearts.

United Muslim Foundation has been working with TeenCentral.Net over the last few years alhamdulilLah to provide counseling to Muslim teens who reach out for help.

We are in need of Muslim volunteer counselors who are willing to go through our online training and can commit to responding to the stories that come up in a timely manner. All you need is reliable internet connection from any part of the world, a listening ear, and a heart sincerely willing to help.

An added perk for Psychology students is that this can serve as a recognised internship for (US based) degree program! To learn more about this project, click here.
