Today is a very special day in United Muslim Foundation History. After 10 years promoting unity, education and community service, UMF unveils for the first time in history, the first ever virtual intra-faith Mosque, on a virtual inter-faith street, accessible world-wide. UMF's virtual mosque and Faith Street sponsored by UMF, have been carefully developed over the course of more a year by UMF in collaboration with Kids Peace on TeenCentral.Net. Our virtual mosque provides an anonymous, interactive and non-judgemental platform for Muslim Youth to pray virtually side by side, listen to the Qur'an, hang out in the Discover Islam Library, share their stories, and receive Muslim counseling and peer suggestions. It also offers the interfaith community a chance to visit our mosque and learn more about Islam and encourages everyone on Faith Street to visit the other houses of worship to learn more about other faiths.
All this would not have been possible without the Grace of God, bringing us in touch with some of the most sincere and hard working people and donors who helped make this possible. To sustain this project, we will need a lot more help. UMF needs to pay for Muslim administration to provide this free service for Muslim youths. We are asking for only $50,000 to cover our annual operations for this one of a kind Muslim project. It is a modest amount to help Muslim youth worldwide. Will you consider giving from your heart? HungerTeam Updates:
UMF has been serving the needy for the last 10 years. And now we're taking things up a notch! UMF HungerTeam will be hosting a monthly 'Breakfast Club', featuring:
- Trivia Games
- Balloons
- Baked Treats for homeless children
- Henna Tattoos
- Cool Prizes (including a bicycle!)
We are even starting a 'Birthday Club' with UMF volunteers baking cakes for homeless children, to be delivered to them on their birthday.
This is just the start of a brand new experience for the homeless and needy, and UMF hopes you will consider volunteering to bake, help out on one of our Hungerteam Breakfast Club dates, collect items for the needy or help spread the word to the needy through distribution in poor neighborhoods and through your local public school. Each school has a pantry, from which the homeless and needy get a supply of food to get them through the weekend. UMF will also be 'adopting' some of these schools in Seminole County to help make sure their food pantries are always stocked. We appreciate all your tax deductible and in-kind donations such as toiletries, clothes, school supplies, blankets and household items.

We invite community and school clubs and other organizations to join us so that together we can make a Big difference, one Small step at a time :)

EXPLORE EXPERIENCE EMPOWER
UMF Guides Started our Fall/Winter Segment on Charity this past weekend, exploring Concepts from the Holy Qur'an about Charity and Giving and building up Team Spirit studying for the Muslim Spelling Bee over Bowling, Pizza and Delicious Home Baked Cupcakes.
Here's some of the feedback we received below:
- A new Guide enthusiastically reported: "I got some questions answered without asking!"
- A Lieutenant messaged in WhatsApp: " I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed yesterday. I thought it was phenomenal. I thought the crafts (Ka'bah Charity Box) was a sick idea and the kids seemed to love it. Insha-Allah I look forward to the next event."
- Parent sent a facebook message saying: "Thank you again for allowing us to be part of UMF. This evening was beyond rewarding, and the kids had an awesome time! I look forward to contributing whatever I can to this noble cause in the future."
Alhamdulil-Lah! And Thank you to the wonderful Parents, Lieutenants and Guides for being a part of our program. We are truly blessed.

UMF Honored at TeenCentral.Net's 15th Anniversary Dinner
|
As TeenCentral.Net celebrated 15 years; 210,000 stories and 509,000 members at the 15th Anniversary Dinner on September 6th, United Muslim Foundation was recognized for it's affiliation with and grant to TeenCentral.Net, which was used to create Faith Street and UMF's Mosque on the site. Volunteer counselors, including UMF's TeenPortal Co-Founder and Director, Farha Fazel, was recognized for her counseling and support. UMF was honored to be a part of the dinner celebration to celebrate the work of all those dedicated to its success, featuring Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen and a memorial to Ginger Papp, co-founder of TeenCentral.Net. The celebration closed with co-founder and Director of TeenCentral.Net, Dr. Julius Licata, singing "Happy Birthday to TeenCentral.Net".
