The Creative Talent
Each time an artist sits down to create whether for a client or for themselves they enter into an amazing and mostly solitary process.  A process they will reconnect with over and over during their lifetime to find their voice.  To not simply "copy" other work they will study, dedicate, nurture and develop their style and unique voice to stand out on the landscape of many.  That story is the story of this gallery..........The creator story.

CTN Artist Spotlight
Amazing Designer - Brett Bean

What is your name and the name of your company?
My name is Brett Bean and my company is 2DBean/ Drawn To It Studios, LLC.
How do you measure success?
Happiness.  It is absolutely the easiest thing to say and the most illusive to feel on a regular basis.
What's one mistake you made early on?
Thinking that everyone else must know something I didn't and that I was the only one "faking" my way through it all.

What's the toughest part of being in charge?

Earning trust.

What is your best motivator?

Artists, humanitarians, and my family.  One group feeds my desire to better myself in a craft, one pushes my desire to be a better person, and the last is the combination of the 2.
What's your proudest accomplishment in your business?

Improving each year in ability and productivity.
What have you sacrificed?

Honestly.  Nothing.  I don't feel I've sacrificed anything.  Sacrifice is the giving of something valued for something gained.  I've been very conscious to devote time and effort to family, friends, the job, and myself and my own endeavors.  All the time, sweat, and tears aren't sacrifices but absolutely necessary for the journey.  But I guess we as humans only have so much time in our lives.  So time is what I've sacrificed to get to this point if an answer needs to be reached.
What have you learned?

Humility, draftsmanship, the ability to persevere, egos don't help, kindness, stay true to your convictions, listen, story trumps all, always do your best, try new things, you only get one reputation, meet your deadlines, only complain when you have a solution, dream big, be honest in your craft, work with good people and better artists than yourself, always observe life, good ideas can come from anyone, and attitude is key.
What's next?
Writing and illustrating the next set of short stories tentatively titled, "10 Tales."  Distribute and promote my new graphic novel that just published called Spaced Out, various conventions,  my first child's birth as well as client work, teaching online, and hopefully a few gallery shows.  That should fill up the year.....or 2....
