New England programs enhance arts access 

NEFA's Expeditions and New England States Touring (NEST) programs made a total of 105 grants totaling $309,221 to artists and nonprofit organizations that support culture in communities across New England. Grants support public presentations and engagement activities, and reach all six New England states. The $309,221 in grants leveraged a total investment of $1,071,726 in creative projects. Center Stage Season 3 tours begin in July


Now in its third season, Center Stage introduces artists from abroad to American communities. From July through October, five contemporary music and theater ensembles from Algeria and Tanzania will tour the U.S., sharing their work with Americans and bringing news of their experiences to their friends and fans at home. Additionally, two bands from Pakistan will tour the U.S. in the spring of 2017. Read more at centerstageus.org.

National Dance Project announces finalists

Recently, the National Dance Project panel of Advisors met in New York for the first of two highly competitive rounds. Over two days of lengthy and intense discussion, the panel reviewed 118 preliminary applications received from artists and companies across the country and narrowed them down to these 37 finalistsEach applicant will work with an NDP Advisor over the course of the next month to prepare their full proposal. Read more at nefa.org.

Save the date! Idea Swap 2016

The Idea Swap is an annual event for New England-based nonprofit cultural organizations to network and share tour project ideas that may qualify for funding from NEFA's Expeditions grant program.

RDDI receives Driehaus support

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation has awarded a grant of $25,000 to support the Chicago Regional Dance Development Initiative, a collaboration between our National Dance Project and the Chicago Dancemakers Forum. Read more at nefa.org.
