CENTER STAGE ADDS TWO ENSEMBLES FROM PAKISTAN

New England Foundation for the Arts, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, will host two ensembles, Sanam Marvi and Sounds of Kolachi, on tour in the U.S. from March through May 2017

Independent month-long U.S. tours by these two Pakistani ensembles in the spring of 2017 join Center Stage tours by five ensembles from Algeria and Tanzania touring in fall 2016. Read more and inquire about booking at CenterStageUS.org or contact Lisa Booth Management, Inc.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR AFTA CONVENTION

The Americans for the Arts annual convention is coming to Boston in June! The event covers a wide range of topics for arts leaders and NEFA would like to make it a easier for New Englanders to attend. We are offering two opportunities for financial support:

1. $500 stipend for the full convention. Open to arts leaders from CT, ME, NH, RI, VT.


2. $200 stipend for the convention's Public Art Preconference. Open to public art leaders in all six New England states.
 

Deadline to apply for both is March 20. Learn more and find details on other scholarship opportunities.


 
NDP AND CHICAGO DANCEMAKERS FORUM ANNOUNCE CHICAGO RDDI ARTISTS

National Dance Project (NDP) together with the Chicago Dancemakers Forum, is excited to announce the 12 Chicago-based artists selected to participate in a 10-day dance lab as part of NDP's Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI). The Chicago Dance Lab will take place July 29-August 9, 2016, along with additional workshops and events open to the Chicago dance community in 2016 and 2017. STAFF NEWS
Jane Preston has been promoted to the position of deputy director. As deputy director, Jane contributes to NEFA's strategic direction and manages the programmatic operations and the development of partnerships and budgets to support the organization's program portfolio. As director of programs from 2005 to 2015, Jane led development of NEFA's regional and national programs supporting Native American artists and theater ensembles, and expanded NEFA's work in creative economy research, dance and public art.
