On January 14, 2015, NEFA was honored to receive the Angel Award at the 2015 International Society for the Performing Arts Awards. Nominated and presented by Mary Lou Aleskie of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, the Angel Award "is presented to an individual or organization which has demonstrated a significant and lasting contribution to the support of the performing arts which transcends the boundaries of one country or institution, and merits international recognition."
"International cultural exchange has been a constant for NEFA," noted COO Laura Paul, "through programs like Expeditions, NDP, and Center Stage, with countries including Australia, Cambodia, France, Haiti, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Pakistan, the UK, Vietnam, and very soon, Algeria and Tanzania."
