Dear Friends,
It was thrilling to have 240 leaders of New England's creative sector out in force June 6 & 7 for the Creative Communities Exchange (CCX). The Children's Museum of (Dover) New Hampshire and Community Supported Art at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education (MA) received NEFA's Creative Economy Awards. Creative Portland was a great co-host, and the vibrant arts district of Portland was a perfect setting. More about the CCX and how communities are engaging the arts may be found on NEFA's blog.
It's been high season for NEFA grantmaking--over $3 million has been distributed in recent months across 11 funding categories. Among them are grants to artists who are newly on our radar alongside those considered the masters and leaders of our field. It's gratifying to be able to support such strong artistry and a wide reach, here in New England and nationally.
NEFA supports, connects, and strengthens the creative sector. A big thank you to our board, partners, and supporters, who make it all possible.
Rebecca Blunk, Executive Director
