Dear Friends,
As 2012 draws to a close and we reflect on the year's many achievements, among our proudest is the first round of Center Stage, which just wrapped up 10 U.S. tours by artists from Haiti, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Just a few numbers to illustrate the impact:
- 63 artists from 3 countries
- 49 communities in 27 states visited
- 34,400+ miles traveled
- 136 performances
- 296 workshops and community activities
- 1,212 fans on Facebook from 20 different countries
- 55,893+ audience members, participants, and students directly reached across the country
NEFA is now planning for the second round of tours in 2014, with a call for nominations of artists from Morocco, Pakistan, Tunisia, and Vietnam just completed.
In all of NEFA's programs, our work is about more than grant making; it's also about connecting. We are deeply grateful to our donors, who help make all of this possible. In this season of giving, please consider a gift to NEFA!

Theater & Touring
In October, NEFA's National Theater Project (NTP) had the privilege of curating a week-long, topical series for HowlRound, the online journal of the Center for the Theater Commons. "This was a great opportunity to include NTP advisors and artists in the conversation about what is moving theater across this country," said NTP program manager Quita Sullivan. KJ Sanchez (pictured), Founder/CEO of NTP-supported American Records, was among several NTP-supported contributors. Read NEFA's blog post for more and for links to the HowlRound posts.
