| , Benjamin Moore has named Guilford Green their color of the year. I love it! Maybe it's because it's the color I painted my own office "A neutral that's natural. A silvery green that works with, well, everything. No worries. No second thoughts. Just a brush, dipped in a can, whooshed on a wall, and a whole lot of happily ever after."
--Ellen O'Neill, Creative Director,
We all think of the green room as the space in a theatre, studio or similar venue which functions as a waiting room and lounge for performers before and after a performance, and during the show when they are not engaged on stage. The origin of the term is often ascribed to such rooms historically being painted green. Folk etymology dates back to Shakespearean theatre where actors would prepare for their performances in a room filled with plants and shrubs. It was believed that the moisture in the topiary was beneficial to the actors' voices. Thus the green room may refer to the green plants in this stage preparation area. |

Monochromatic colors feel right, right now. Try warm, cool, dark and light layers of the same hue. It's one chromatic concept, gracefully flowing room to room.
Guilford Green (HC-116) is the color that ties this altogether, our 2015 Color of the Year. A neutral color that is a natural. A silvery green that works a wide range of color combinations - from neutrals to daring shades.
