| What's even more amazing is that custom Tibetan area rugs are made completely by hand in the Nepalese tradition exactly as they have been for centuries and require countless hours to weave. The wool is carded (combed) by hand, spun by hand and dyed by hand. The rugs are hand-knotted in a dense 100-knot construction of luxurious Nepalese wool and pure silk and then washed, dried and sheared by a skilled craftsperson.

The result is a one-of-a-kind work of art with individual character. Since the yarn is hand-spun, our custom Tibetan wool and silk rugs have a rich texture that hand-knotted rugs made from machine-spun wool cannot match. And, since machines do not process the wool, the wool retains all of its natural beneficial characteristics which insure beauty, durability, and stain resistance.
