Greetings!
Green? The 1990 Environmentalists called and they want their cliché back. The word "Green" has become an umbrella for all sorts of quasi-green products to include categories like renewable and recyclable. Please. Our 100% wool rugs are and always have been as green as the grass sheep graze on. Once sheared, sheep's wool simply grows back. And just like a Shih Tzu, sheep actually enjoy getting summer haircuts.
Wool is completely natural. Its features are amazing. It's naturally soil resistant and stain repellent, it absorbs moisture and pollutants, dampens sound and provides both heat and cold insulation. Wool is composed of amino acids - the building blocks of life. At the end of its life when returned to the soil, it degrades and releases nutrients that support plant growth, like the very grass sheep graze on. And so the circle of life continues.

The energy used to shear and scour wool fiber into yarn is one-third to one-sixth less than to produce synthetic fiber. The energy saved in using 10 million pounds of wool equates to 3.75 million gallons of gasoline. Wool naturally releases dry and wet spills so they can be easily cleaned. Wool also ages gracefully, the beauty and value of these rugs increase with age. When people are replacing wool carpets, it is typically due to style change rather than an issue related to appearance and performance.

Yes, Mother Nature really out-did herself when it came to wool. Although it has been around for centuries, wool continues to amaze us with its benefits, many of which man has yet to replicate. Wool and Nature fiber rock.
