Welcome to Aloma Elementary where we are soaring to success! Aloma Elementary School is proud to serve the Winter Park Pines and Full Sail communities. My personal philosophy is "every student deserves the opportunity to be globally competitive." As such, we strive to ensure that our students are well-rounded and globally prepared to be productive citizens in the 21st Century.
This school year we are transitioning from the weekly principal phone call to a digital newsletter that comes straight to your inbox or cell phone, allowing parents to access this information in print at any time.
Thank you again for being a part of the Aloma Eagle family.
Kindest regards,
Jennifer Sanders, Principal

Aloma Elementary School is committed to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children. School volunteers are extra-special people who are committed to making schools the best they can be by offering special attention and caring that can inspire students to reach and realize their dreams. For this reason, we welcome parents and community members as volunteers at Aloma Elementary School.
All volunteers, including parents, must be APPROVED ADDitions volunteers before being permitted to enter into the general population areas of the school. The approval process can take up to six weeks, so we encourage EVERY ADULT who may wish to volunteer in a classroom, chaperone a fieldtrip, or eat lunch with their child to apply now for future opportunities. Please be sure that grandparents or parents of divorced children share this information with all persons so everyone can apply for clearance at an early juncture.
Our school board member, Joie Cadle, has donated funds to help off-set the cost of two new picnic tables on campus that were purchased for the exclusive purpose of providing a shady and special area for parents and their children to enjoy an occasional lunch at school. Your child may also choose a friend in their homeroom class to join them. Please be sure to let your child's homeroom teacher know of your plans to join your child for lunch so we can ensure that every student's location is known to all necessary parties.
To apply, please go to the parent page at www.ocps.net and search for ADDitions. The ADDitions process must be renewed annually, so please share the word with your friends and neighbors. Thank you in advance for understanding that safety will always precursor any decision made and no exceptions will be granted.

Birthdays are an important event in your child's life. Every student at Aloma Elementary School is given the opportunity to lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance on morning announcements on their birthday. Children with birthdays over the summer, weekends, or school holidays are also invited to experience this opportunity when they return to school.
In order to maintain academic focus, we limit birthday celebrations to the sharing of a treat during your child's lunch period in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to delivery cupcakes or a healthy snack to the front office on their child's birthday. The treat will be delivered for distribution to the cafeteria at lunchtime.
Please do not send balloons, goody bags or other such items to school as these are considered a distraction and are not permitted to be delivered to the classroom. Children are welcome to distribute birthday invitations to their class provided that every child in the classroom has been invited. Please work with your child's homeroom teacher for a list of first names and distribution policies. |
We are excited to once again offer free academic clubs to our students on a first-come, first-serve basis. A waiting list will be used once our clubs are at capacity. In addition, we are offering fee-based clubs after school on our campus to further extend learning opportunities for our students. Information on clubs will be offered at both Meet the Teacher and be sent home in our student packets at the beginning of the school year.
