Greetings from the field! Work is continuing to move "fast forward" throughout the 91 Project limits.

During the past month, we completed the first two phases to lower Serfas Club Drive, which is needed to provide vertical clearance for trucks traveling beneath the 91. On March 25, our crews started the third and final phase to lower Serfas Club between the westbound and eastbound ramps. The work requires a full closure of the undercrossing through Monday, April 4 at 4 am. The closure coincides with the Corona-Norco Unified School District's Spring Break, when fewer motorists are on the road.

Please note that the undercrossing closure will require a weekend closure of the Serfas Club eastbound off-ramp from Friday, April 1 at 9 pm to Monday, April 4 at 4 am. We also will need to close the undercrossing at night the weeks of April 4 and April 11.  Starting Monday morning there will be notable improvement to local traffic conditions at this interchange. Thank you for your patience during this Serfas Club work, and please remember to visit the businesses in this area. For a detour map, please click here.

Please be on the lookout for the following work:

1. We will be requiring a 36-hour weekend closure of the far right westbound 91 lane between the Green River on-ramp and the Riverside County/Orange County Line from Friday, April 8 at 9 pm to Sunday, April 10 at 9 am. The lane closure will allow crews to replace pavement.  The westbound 91 Green River on-ramp and all other lanes will remain open during this lane closure.

2.  The westbound on-ramps at  Green River Road and Main Street were reduced from three lanes to two  lanes starting March 21 and will continue in that condition for about  two months. The Lincoln Avenue  westbound on-ramp also will be reduced to two lanes starting Monday night, April 4. That ramp will remain as two lanes through the end of  2016. We have turned off the ramp meters to help improve traffic flow, but please allow extra time to access the westbound 91, especially during the busy morning commute hours.
3. The southbound 15 full closures at the 91 that began on March 21 will continue to mid-April. The closures are occurring nightly from 10 pm to 5 am. To continue on southbound I-15, take eastbound 91 to the McKinley Street off-ramp, and then enter the westbound 91 to reconnect to southbound 15 or take westbound 91 to Lincoln Street off-ramp and enter eastbound 91 to reconnect to southbound 15.

4. Pomona Road between Maple Street and Smith Avenue will be open to only westbound traffic from 5 am to 10 pm daily through mid-May. Full closures of Pomona Road are occurring nightly from 10 pm to 5 am.

5. Eastbound 91 full closure on Sunday, April 10 from 2 am to 6 am to remove the overhead sign over the roadway. To reconnect to the 91, motorists will be need to exit Maple Street, use Sixth Street to El Sobrante, and then head south on Magnolia to enter I-15, and then head north on I-15. Please follow detour signs and allow for extra time.

6. Nightly full closures of the eastbound 91 at Maple Street will be required, April 18-20. The closures will occur each night from 10 pm to 5 am. Please exit Maple and turn left at Paseo Grande to reenter eastbound 91. Nightly full closures of the westbound 91 at Maple Street will be required from April 21-23 from 9 pm to 4 am each night. Please exit Maple, turn right across the Maple bridge, turn left onto Pomona Road, and then turn left on Auto Center Drive to re-enter westbound 91. Both closures will allow crews to install the support structure for the new Maple Street bridge. Please continue to follow our construction alerts for up to date information.
