Construction to Start Near Santa Ana River Trail
|
As part of the 91 Project, work will begin this fall near the Santa Ana River Trail (SART) along Green River Road in Corona. Improvements include building a retaining wall along the 91, realigning Green River Road and constructing a new, permanent parking lot for trail users.
Work will occur as follows:
- Phase 1: Shifting the parking area along Green River Road (fall 2014), followed by work on a 23-foot retaining wall along the westbound 91 (fall 2014 to summer 2015)
- Phase 2: Constructing the south half of Green River Road after the retaining wall is completed (late summer 2015)
- Phase 3: Constructing the north half of Green River Road and a permanent parking lot (fall 2015). The new, permanent parking lot will feature 56 parking stalls, new sidewalk and curb and a drinking fountain.
Please note that these dates are subject to change, based on weather and other factors.
During construction, trail users will be directed to a temporary parking lot east of the entrance to the Green River Golf Club. Trail users should not park at the Green River Golf Club unless they are patronizing the club. Please pay close attention to posted signs, use reduced speeds and drive safely through this area.

Crews Work to Maintain Clean Project Corridor
|
Safety is top priority for the 91 Project, and crews recently have developed a schedule to keep the project area clean and free of debris. On a weekly basis (usually on Thursdays) crews sweep and perform maintenance on the inside and outside shoulders throughout the project corridor. On Fridays, crews remove trash and manage other clean-up activities along the 91 and 15 roadways.
In addition, property management crews are working to remove graffiti, abandoned furniture and dumped items on properties that have been acquired for the project.
To request removal of trash or other items, please call the helpline, 877-770-9191 or use the "Contact Us" section of the website, sr91project.info
