91 Project Launches Business Support Program

First Meeting on September 9

The Riverside County Transportation Commission has developed a 91 Project Business Support Program to serve as a resource for area businesses. Quarterly meetings will be held to provide information about upcoming construction activity and to promote ongoing communication between business operators and project team members. All businesses along the project corridor are encouraged to attend the first quarterly meeting:

Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014

7 am - 8:30 am

Corona Chamber of Commerce

904 E. Sixth Street, Corona, CA 92879

In addition to quarterly meetings, the Business Support Program includes:

  • One-on-one meetings with business operators, upon request
  • Signage to remind the community that businesses are open during construction
  • Business profiles in this 'Up to Speed" e-bulletin, social media and "91 Seconds on the 91" videos
  • Coupon incentives (coming soon)

A "Buy Local" program also is being implemented to encourage 91 Project team members to use local businesses, whenever possible.

Construction Heats up near 15/91 Interchange, Prado Road Bridge, Local Streets...

Watch for Changing Roadway Conditions

Construction activity is increasing along the project corridor, and the Riverside County Transportation Commission reminds drivers to slow down, be alert and watch for changing conditions.

In August, crews shifted vehicles to temporary connectors from the southbound and northbound 15 to westbound 91. The northbound 15 to westbound 91 connector also was restriped, creating two through-lanes to Main Street. Crews also placed K-rail along the shoulder of the 91 to create a safety barrier between traffic and roadway widening work. Construction activity near the Prado Road Bridge also is under way, as well as work on E. Grand Boulevard and staging activities for various interchanges along the 91. On the 15, activities are focused in the median from the 15/91 interchange to Ontario Avenue.

As a reminder, the speed limit within the project area has been reduced to 55 miles per hour. Please pay extra attention and drive safely. Click here for safety tips near the 91 Project construction zone.

Business Spotlight: Goodfellas Cafe

Goodfellas Cafe is a family-owned restaurant located along the 91 Project corridor on Pomona Road, just north of the Lincoln Avenue off-ramp. Owners and brothers John and George Tsarouhas have been in the food business for many years and really know what great food is all about!

Open during construction, this local restaurant is known around town for its delicious food, friendly wait-staff and affordable prices. Although the name and restaurant menu is diverse. The portions are large and, considering the high quality of the food, the prices are excellent.

Yelp reviewers can't get enough of the Goodfellas' "larger than life" burgers, pastrami sandwiches and big breakfast meals. Even Inland Empire's famous FeedMe411 food critic Allan Borgen says the grub at Goodfellas "is fantastic!" Visit  for breakfast, lunch or dinner between 6 am and 10 pm.
