We are now accepting registration f or memberships (which include tickets to all services) and orders for single service tickets (subject to availability). As in years past, there is no charge for children to the age of 13, who will once again benefit from a host of wonderful programs and special services.
***New this year is an early Rosh Hashanah morning family service, especially for those with young children, and led by Rabbi Goldberg.
Note: Tickets to our Erev Rosh Hashanah dinner can be purchased on the ticket order form for services. Please order early.
The following deadlines for online orders apply: Registration for Erev Rosh Hashanah dinner: Tuesday, September 8th @ 5:00 p.m.

Online sales will resume for Yom Kippur on Thursday, September 17th @ 9:00 a.m. and will be on sale until Sunday, September 20th at 12 p.m.(noon).
Tickets for individual Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services (and memberships, which include service tickets) will also be sold at the door (subject to availability) during the Holy Days.
All ticket orders are subject to availability. We encourage you to place your order now to ensure availability.
As an unaffiliated congregation without support from major foundations or federations, your membership fees and donations pay for all that we offer at High Holy Days and during the year; staffing, rentals, administration, kiddishes and other free meals, free children's programs and all other costs. Being a member of Shir Libeynu places you within a warm, progressive community and gives you access to spiritual services, cultural and educational programs and a circle of caring, creative people dedicated to a meaningful Jewish life.

INCLUSIVE PRACTICES: NO SHIR LIBEYNITE LEFT BEHIND
This is an informal series of Jewish learning workshops on various topics that our members say are important and relevant to them. Various experts and teachers will lead them. The workshops will usually take place after the kiddushes, in the chapel or classroom at the MNJCC, usually starting at 12:45 p.m. and ending at 2 p.m. ** (New for next service)** - For the September service, you can learn with the rabbi before our service, at 9 a.m., in Room 305. You do not need expertise in any of these topics in order to participate.
OUR NEXT LEARNING WORKSHOP
Breakfast with The Rabbi
Towards the Days of Awe: Honing Your Inner Self for the High Holy Days
September 5th @ 9:00 a.m. in Room 305 (down the hall from the chapel) at the MNJCC
Join Rabbi Aviva Goldberg before the regular Shabbat service.
Rabbi Goldberg will be leading a conversational introduction to the upcoming holiday season. Beyond all of the practical preparations for starting the new year, how do we ready our inner selves as we approach this period of intense celebration, reflection and recommitment to Jewish life. What are our goals and how will we know if they have been met?
Please bring your own coffee and nosh. We will not be serving breakfast.

HIGH HOLY DAYS: THE JUNIOR EDITION
|
Our free children's program is available for all children ages three to eight years old. Children must be registered on our High Holy Days form.
Rosh Hashanah Day #1, September 14th
*NEW This Year* Join Rabbi Aviva Goldberg for a special family service in the shul at 9:30 a.m. sharp. This interactive service will bring the celebration of the Jewish New Year to life for kids and their grown ups.
Later, in the Spirit Room, the children will learn about brachot (blessings) with Rebecca Sheridan. They'll learn the blessings while making brachot placemats, maybe with some help from our chazzan, Daniela Gesundheit.
Rosh Hashanah Day #2, September 15th
Kids - dress for a mess. We'll be making challah and the flour will be flying. This hands-on bread-making experience provides each child with the opportunity to make a unique, individual-sized challah - with raisins or without!
On both days of Rosh Hashanah, the kids visit the main service to hear the blowing of the shofar.
Yom Kippur Morning, September 23rd
Our children's service in Shaw Hall is being led by our president, Jamie Flagal. Jamie makes even the most serious day of the year fun! Grown ups are welcome to join their kids as we sing, pray and read Torah together. This brief service begins at 10:15 a.m. and will run for 30 to 45 minutes.
After the service, our Yom Kippur kids' activities will include crafts, stories and games.
Our children's program takes place in the Spirit Room, except where otherwise noted. All children must be signed in. The Spirit Room is open and sign in begins 15 minutes before the start of services. Our program runs until services are over. A healthy snack will be served at each session.
Children's Program Sign-In Times
On Erev Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidrei, throughout the afternoon of Yom Kippur and Neilah, free child care will be available.
