Our Shabbat service this Saturday features kids, big and small. There will be the Hebrew naming of two-year-old Nathan Angus Gillis (son of Francine and Greg Gillis), as well as honours for several young people about to become b'nei mitzvah.

Shir Libeynu All Year Round...

Our Shabbat morning services, held the first Saturday of every month, include free child care with thematic activities. Of course, if your family prefers to attend services together, your children are very welcome. Whichever choice you make, the kids always enjoy the informal Kiddush afterwards.

Habonim Dror/Camp Gesher Downtown Activities

Over the past several years, Habonim Dror/Camp Gesher, a progressive Jewish youth movement, has run activities for the children of Shir Libeynu. Their madrichim (counsellors) have been a great addition to our annual Chanukah celebration.

With the help of the MNJCC and young Israeli emissaries (Shinshinim), Habonim Dror has been able to expand its year-round program to include activities Sunday afternoons for kids in Grades 3-6. Separate programs for Grades 7-11 are also offered at certain times.

In the month of April, the Shinshinim will be running a program for children in Grades 3-6 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the MNJCC (750 Spadina Avenue) on Sunday, April 7 and Sunday, April 14.

On Sunday, April 21, Habonim Dror/Camp Gesher will be taking part in Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Day) at the MNJCC, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A Lag Ba'Omer bonfire celebration will be held for kids in Grades 7-11 on Sunday, April 28. Contact [email protected] for details.
