Chanukah in Chelm!
Friday, December 14, 2012 @ 6 p.m.
175 St. Clair Ave. W. (near Avenue Rd.)
First Unitarian Congregation building - Sunderland Hall
Songs! Stories! Dancing! Sizzling Latkes!
Welcome Shabbat with Aviva and light the Chanukah candles. Listen to the singing of Daniela, our MC for the evening. Enjoy the traditional-with-a-twist sounds of the Jewstice League Klezmer ensemble (they played for us last year). Sing and dance to Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino and English tunes! Hear Eden tell tales of Chanukah in Chelm!
Enjoy a light dairy meal - with latkes, of course! - from Free Times Café. Cost: $20 per person ($5 for children younger than 13). All are welcome, but everybody must register by Tuesday, Dec. 11. After registering, you can pay online or bring cash or a cheque to the event. Last year we sold out, so order now!
First 20 Adults (18+) to Register will receive a free MNJCC Fitness Facility Pass (Worth $40; supply limited)
Bring your own
Chanukiah from home,
to light up the evening!
Thank you to Gary A. Klein and Harriet Eisenkraft for their donation toward this event in honour of their daughter, Elise Eisenkraft Klein, recent graduate of McGill University (Bachelor of Arts, 2012, Jewish & Women's Studies) and a founding member of the Jewstice League Klezmer ensemble.
