North American Occupations Health and Safety (NAOSH) week runs from May 5th to 11th and is organized by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers on an annual basis as a means of raising awareness for occupational health and safety issues in our communities. Medicine Hat has an exciting line up of speakers and events this year including the Forklift Skills Challenge & Mini Trade Show held at Criterion Catalysts on May 7th. May 8th marks a free seminar, Thriving in the World of Safety at 9:00 am, a BBQ lunch at the Medicine Hat College (all proceeds go to Steps for Life), followed by the Steps for Life walk in the afternoon. On Friday, May 10th there are three free seminars to choose from: Getting Management On-side, Supporting successful OHS programs at 9:00 am, Without Teamwork, Are you as safe as you think at 11:45 and What is this safety culture and leadership stuff at 1:15 pm.
