From Our Friends At
The German American School Of Portland
The Infusion Solution

Not sure a full-immersion program is right for your child? Infusion might be the solution!

A bilingual education

Everyone agrees that young children have the best advantage when it comes to learning a new language. The real question is what amount of language is important to your family? Do you want your child to be proficient in a language, with the ability to read, write and speak? Do you want them to be fluent, with the focus on verbal communication? The German American School believes that all children should have the opportunity to become bilingual world citizens.

What exactly is Infusion?

Our Kindergarten Infusion Program is an English Program infused with German lessons throughout the day. With our two programs, we foster the exchange of knowledge, ideas and social interactions. Let us help you find the right program for your child!

Schedule a Tour!

See how your child could benefit from an additional language and witness our vibrant, close-knit school community firsthand by scheduling a tour today!

From Our Friends At World Forestry Center

"The Art of Dr. Seuss" to open

We all know the name Dr. Seuss. His books were read to us when we were kids and now we're reading them to our own children.  The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Yertle the Turtle come alive with brilliant, colorful illustrations and nonsense words that get stuck in our heads and bring smiles to our faces. But did you know that besides his famous children's books, Theodor Seuss Geisel's career spanned nearly 70 years and included magazine covers, editorial cartoons, advertising pieces and whimsical unorthodox taxidermy?

The World Forestry Center Discovery Museum is pleased to present, "The Art of Dr. Seuss," celebrating the life and art of this fascinating man.  Visitors will see classic Seuss illustrations and well as some of his lesser- known, but equally beautiful, art from other periods of his life.  Open May 24 - August 17. The exhibit is free with museum admission.
