Mommy and Me Mondays at the Discovery Museum
 

Great for all Caregivers!

 

Mondays, 10:00 - 11:00 am

(Museum opens at 9:30am, program from 

10-10:45am)

 

The Discovery Museum invites you and your preschoolers to join them for its popular program, Mommy and Me Mondays, running now through April.  Every Monday from 10-11am, join them as they take you and your little ones on an adventure with songs, crafts, story time or puppetry. Afterwards, take your time and enjoy all of the hands-on exhibits in the museum that are fun for all ages!

Mommy and Me Mondays are included with museum admission and free for members. Children 2 and under are free.

Show Us The Love:
Kids Coloring Contest
Celebrating local young artists

 

In its 2nd year, the Color Me cover contest is a contest created to promote an interest in the arts, and to showcase the talent of young, local artists. All Portland area kids are encouraged to celebrate art and the things they like most about Valentine's Day by drawing or painting and submitting an original color illustration. Anything from chocolate eating robots to hearts and flowers, we're open to it all. 

 

Kids in grades preK-6 are eligible to win. We'll pick three winners from age groups in grades preK-1, grades 2-4 and grades 5-6. The grand prizewinner's illustration will be featured on the cover and runner ups artwork will be posted on facebook and on nwkidsmagazine.comEntrants will be judged on creativity, originality and relativity to the theme.

 

We're also giving away some other amazing prizes like a week of art camp at OCAC, a dual membership at Portland Children's Museum, tickets to Portland Art Museum and gift 

certificates from Craft FactoryLearning Palace, Mimosa Studios

Art a la CarteSpielwerk and Child's Play

 

The deadline for entries is January 15th. Contestants can submit their drawings and entry forms by mail, email or can scan them and upload them to our facebook page, facebook.com/nwkids. Entry forms and cover templates can be picked up from participating sponsors or downloaded from our website, nwkidsmagazine.com
