Parish Notes
Laura Kennedy, mother of Victoria Kennedy, died peacefully on Monday May 23rd at her home.  Victoria, Victoria's sister, and Victoria's brother-in-law were at her side.  Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming."
Your prayers are requested for Laura.
O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant Laura and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Please pray also for Victoria and all the members of Laura's family.
O merciful Father, who has taught us in thy holy Word that thou dost not willingly afflict or grieve thy children, Look with pity on the sorrows of thy servants for whom our prayers are offered. Remember them, O Lord, in mercy, nourish their souls with patience, comfort them with a sense of thy goodness, lift up thy countenance upon them, and give them peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched with friendship, and their lives encircled by your love. Amen.

Grant, O Lord, to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love. And this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Search Committee Update

On behalf of St. Patrick's Search Committee, I would like to thank you for your patience during this period of discernment in our search process.  The Search Committee received an overwhelming amount of resumes in April and have worked diligently to select candidates and conduct interviews since then.  I am happy to report that we are coming close to completing the evaluation phase and are focusing on three solid candidates.  Based on the needs, hopes, and dreams of our congregation I have every confidence that we will find the right person to shepherd St. Patrick's.

I want to assure parishioners of St. Patrick's that the Search Committee has been working hard and that we are on track and things are going well.  We look forward to providing you with further updates in the next few weeks.  In the meantime, we ask that you pray for patience as the search process may take longer than expected.  It's all in God's timing so please pray that the Search Committee continue to keep Christ as the center of our pastoral process.

Sincerely,
Liz Nguyen
Chair, Search Committee

Falls Church Community Service Council Fundraiser

Between June 4 and 18, Falls Church Community Service Council (FCS) will raise funds through operation of the concession stand at the upcoming production of "Red Herring", put on by the Providence Players at the nearby James Lee Community Center (located just north of Rt. 50 on Annandale Road).

Everything needed for the concession sales is provided-we only need to provide three people to work an evening/afternoon.  Proceeds from the concession stand will go directly to FCS, which does great work helping our neediest neighbors avoid homelessness through assistance with food, doctor's prescriptions, utility bills, furniture, and the like.

Following is a link to the signup created for this event.  You will see all the dates that need to be filled, as well as a description of the event:   http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0544aeab29ab9-fcsconcession .  A team consists of three people, at least one of whom must be at least 21 years old.  You are also welcome to contact Catherine Dubas directly (571-242-2591, [email protected])
